Curtin University Library offers special Library membership arrangements for Curtin Alumni.
Services available include:
- Borrowing material from the Library's collections - 12 items may be borrowed for 6 weeks.
- Use of the Library's document delivery and interlibrary loan services to acquire resources from other libraries (a charge per item applies). At this stage, borrowing and document delivery services can only be provided 'in person'.
- Use of the reference services provided by the Library's Enquiries Desk staff.
- Access to a wide range of electronic databases using the computers in the Library. These are available via the Databases A-Z listing in the Curtin Library home page. Please select the link Databases for Onsite Use.
- Access to ProQuest electronic database service (one of the world's most comprehensive collections of full-text digital information covering business, science, computing, health, humanities and the social sciences) at your desktop if you are a member of the Curtin Alumni. Curtin Alumni who take up library membership will be issued with a Curtin ID and Password enabling them to access ProQuest via Gecko from any computer with internet access - in the library, at home or in the office - within Australia or offshore.
[Note that it is an important Condition of Use that Alumni members will only use the service for their own personal research or educational use and not as a substitute for their employers or businesses obtaining access to the service.]
- Access to other selected electronic databases including PubMed and AskERIC via the Databases A-Z listing. Please select the Free Databases link.
Alumni Library membership is available for a special fee of $60 for 6 months or $100 for 12 months.
