Theoretically, any database can be searched using a PDA, if you have a wireless connection. However some databases are much easier to search and have been set up so that on a small screen, they require no, or very little horizontal scrolling. Some databases can't be searched due to incompatibilities which arise from using a reduced version of Internet Explorer.
The following are known to be PDA friendly, check the A-Z list of databases for a complete list of databases.
Agricola - Free version.
AustLII - Searching quite good, however downloads don't open well on a PDA.
CIRRIE: Center for international Rehabilitation Research Information and Exchange
CSA Databases - includes Agricola, ASFA, Corrosion Abstracts, Design and Applied Arts Index, LISA, LLBA.
Current Contents Connect - Find It links won't work.

Highwire Press - Individual journals on Highwire offer TOC and abstracts for PDA, both Palm and PPC. You will need to register on Highwire and also download the software to access this feature.

ProQuest Databases - use the "Text Only" interface for best results. ProQuest databases include ABI/Inform Global, Academic Research Library, Health and Medical Complete.
PubMed or try the text version of PubMed.
PubMed also has two products specifically for PDA's - PubMed for Handhelds which also offers the "Systematic Reviews subset" as well as searching, and PubMed on Tap, which is a product currently being evaluated and available for Palm and Pocket PC. Both products are free to use. There is a separate PubMed URL to access for mobile phones with WAP browsers.
VOCED: Vocational Education and Training Database
AvantGo is a free service that provides mobile websites to PDA's and other handheld devices. Access is a combination of synching with your PC or wireless.
Below is a selection of mobile websites or "channels" available via AvantGo. You can also use AvantGo as an RSS reader. You will need to have AvantGo installed on your PDA before you can access these items. There is more information about installing software and accessing the channels on the AvantGo web site.
