Virtual Bookshelf

The Virtual Bookshelf provides a view of library materials in an exciting visual format using the cover images of books. In this beta release it is showing new books.

Where can I find the Virtual Bookshelf?

http://bookshelf.library.curtin.edu.au/newbooks

Does the Virtual Bookshelf only show print books?

The Virtual Bookshelf displays e-books alongside print items.

Can I get the book or do I just look at the cover?

Clients are able to click on a book they are interested in and a catalogue entry will pop up advising them of the item’s bibliographic details. From there the client can find the book’s location and its current availability, for e-books the client can go straight to the book.

How often is the Virtual Bookshelf refreshed?

The new books displayed are refreshed each Monday and the Virtual  Bookshelf displays items added to the collection in the last week.

Does the new books display show every new book for the last week?

If we can't get a cover image then the book will not show in the Virtual Bookshelf. Our goal is 100% coverage and we are working towards that goal.

Can I find new books elsewhere?
