Document delivery

The Curtin Library collection may not hold all the resources you require for your study and research. If you need a book, a copy of a book chapter, a journal article, conference paper or thesis that we don’t have, we may be able to obtain it for you from another library via our document delivery service. Note that only Curtin staff, postgraduate students and honours students (by application of the lecturer on the student’s behalf) are eligible for the service.

You may be able to borrow desired items in person at other Western Australian university libraries as part of the WA Reciprocal Borrowing Scheme. Please investigate this option before placing a document delivery request. Alternatively, you may recommend we purchase an item.

Placing a document delivery request

To submit a request, please follow the steps described in Requesting Items.

Checking your requests

You can check and locate your new document delivery requests in your Borrower Information accessible from the Library catalogue.

Log into the Library catalogue and go to Borrower Information and Requests to view your requests.

Loan renewal requests

If you wish to renew books obtained for you by the document delivery service, please contact us before the due date. Renewals are at the discretion of the library that owns the book. You will be advised if your renewal request is successful.


Fines may be applied to overdue items, please ensure that items are returned by their due date. Renewals may be possible, please contact us before the due date.
