Requesting and borrowing from another Curtin library
If an item is available at another Curtin library (Robertson, Muresk or Kalgoorlie) you do not have to go to that library to get it. You can use the library catalogue to request it, even if it is on loan. You can specify the Curtin library from which you want to collect the item (ie the pickup location). The library will transfer the item to your pick-up location and put it on hold for you. You will be sent a notice when the item arrives.
The item may take from one to four days to arrive, depending on which library holds the item.
For information on pickups at the Curtin Graduate School of Business Library please click here.
You cannot request an item that is available in your own library. You have to retrieve it from the shelves yourself.
Requests may not be processed successfully if:
- you already have a request on a copy of the item
- your borrowing privileges have been suspended for some reason (e.g. you are no longer enrolled, you have an overdue item or you have fines on your library record which prevent you from borrowing)
- the item is only available for a short term loan period
- the item is listed as being available in the library you wish to pick it up from. You need to retrieve it from the shelves yourself.
You also use "request an item" when you need the library to retrieve a bound thesis or other item from the Robertson Library Closed Collection.
