Requesting theses and academic dissertations

The library normally provides access to theses from other universities by purchasing a copy for our collection, which you can then borrow.

Before requesting that we purchase a thesis please search these thesis databases, as you may find the thesis you're looking for is freely available online.

To request the library purchase a copy of a thesis please see request that we buy a copy of a thesis or academic dissertation for our collection. You will be notified once the thesis arrives and is available for you to borrow. The time taken to receive theses varies considerably, but you are advised to allow at least 6 weeks. In the event we are unable to purchase a copy we will attempt to borrow a copy and notify you when it is available.

There may be circumstances whereby you wish to request that the library obtain a copy of a thesis for your personal use without the library purchasing a copy for inclusion in our collection. In these circumstances please contact the Document Delivery Supervisor.

Please note: some theses may not be supplied due to copyright restrictions or embargoes, or a variety of other reasons given by the supplying institution.
