Centre for Aboriginal Studies
Centre for Aboriginal Studies Faculty Librarian
BA Library & Corporate Information Management (Hons) (Curtin), ALIA
I was appointed as a Faculty Librarian in September 2013, having been employed by Curtin University Library since 2004. In this role, I provide library support to the staff and research students from the four Schools in the Humanities Faculty, the Centre for Aboriginal Studies and the various research centres associated with the Humanities.
Background and special interests
I studied here at Curtin and graduated in 2004. I was fortunate enough to be employed as a library student assistant at the John Curtin Prime Ministerial Library while I was studying, and on graduation I was successful in my application for employment at Curtin University Library. Since then, I have been lucky enough to work in almost every section of the library, providing me with broad library expertise, preparing me for my current role as Faculty Librarian.
What do I love about this job? The nature and scope of the subject areas in the Humanities Faculty is so diverse, creating exciting challenges across an array of different fields. I am constantly learning about the new research being conducted and the evolving technologies and resources that staff and students need to understand to achieve their aims. My working relationship with the staff and research students enables me to fulfil my role and to retain my enthusiasm at work. I look forward to being of help to you.
